Boating and birdwatching: live on one of the West Country’s idyllic estuaries
By Clare Coode of Stacks Property Finders
The highest demand for waterside properties is for the quiet havens for boating and birdwatching on the area’s sought-after estuaries, according to Stacks Property Search, a buying agency. “What’s not to like?, asks Clare Coode of Stacks. “They offer a constantly changing view, they’re sailing heaven and theyre great for kids because the water is usually fairly sheltered but there are also beaches. Plus they almost always have pretty towns along them. Living on an estuary down here is a classic ambition when moving to the region.”
“Lots of younger buyers now want to be near estuaries to paddleboard,” explains Coode, who admits she’s a fan herself. For the uninitiated, SUP (stand-up paddleboarding is one of the UK’s fastest-growing watersports and allows even the most land-lubberish to take to boards and enjoy estuaries.
