Our clients had lived abroad for over 10yrs. They decided to move back to the south of England because they wanted their children to benefit from the education system in the UK. When we first met them, they had decided on a school in Hampshire and wanted some help to find their new home because they didn’t know the area particularly well and they were still living abroad.
Having visited the beautiful market town in Hampshire where the school is located, our clients decided that they wanted to find a house in or very near that specific town. Their original brief was quite loose: a house with a big garden, they were very interested in plots/knock-downs or houses which needed a lot of renovation, and in a location within a 5 mile radius of the school. But after our client’s third visit (he always gave us a day of his time when he came to the UK on a business trip), we managed to narrow down their search area dramatically.
After viewing all the potential houses in the area, we set up a Viewing Day and took them round 6 properties in different locations.
Subsequently our search became a lot more targeted because we had learnt so much about their likes and dislikes on the Viewing Day
After a second Viewing Day we agreed that the best option for them was going to be one of about twenty large Edwardian houses with large gardens in the centre of town. The problem was that there weren’t any on the market
We wrote letters to the twenty targeted properties and two responded indicating they may consider selling. We viewed both houses and it was immediately obvious that one of them would be perfect for our clients
We asked our clients to fly over to view the house and they fell in love with it straight away. We negotiated a deal with the owner and exchanged contracts 4 weeks later.
We continued to work hard for our clients right up to the day of Completion, liaising with: solicitors, surveyors, builders, cleaners and removal men.
Our clients flew over with all their belongings on the day of Completion and moved straight in.
Our clients are now really pleased to be back in the UK, their children are enjoying their new school and they all love their new home. They are planning a large extension and expect to stay there for a very long time.
A family with young children who worked overseas wanted a UK base for the family.
Our clients were an overseas family. They had children studying in the UK and had a two-week break to find a property.
This time, our client was a recent graduate looking for her first home and investment in London.
