Why they came to Stacks

Mrs M, her partner, horses and donkeys were living in a rented farm in Somerset. They were looking to buy a period property with outbuildings and land for around £1M.

 

What they were looking for

The house needed an annexe or outbuildings suitable for stables and a music studio. There needed to be enough space for visiting family and land for grazing. It was important that the property had good communication links for London and Bath Rugby Club.

 

What the local area offer could offer

The budget ruled out some locations, and it took some time to find a house that offered everything that was needed. In fact the house they bought only became a possibility because the price was reduced by the vendor.

 

How Stacks helped

Stacks was able to negotiate with the agent and vendor, explain our client’s position and commitment to buy. The vendor was a Developer who was retaining the rest of the farm’s barns and outbuildings. He chose to stick with Stacks’ client, even though he subsequently received an offer that was £100,000 more. We were able to change the boundary, and agree some additional works to be included in the price.

 

The happy outcome

Our clients and their livestock have moved in and are all enjoying a fantastic new home which has everything that they needed and additional large barns with potential for the future.
