Finding an old rectory in North Buckinghamshire was urgent for this London family.

Against plenty of cash-rich buyers, the ‘old rectory’ is a rare prize, so being first in the door, before the properties reach the portals was essential.

Why they came to Stacks

Mr & Mrs W had made the decision that they wanted to relocate their family out of London and into the countryside.  They loved Buckinghamshire, however, navigating their way through all the villages, towns and houses in what was an unpredictable and incredibly competitive market was overwhelming and they knew they needed help.

What they were looking for

In a market with plenty of cash-rich buyers, the ‘old rectory’ is always a fantastically sought after option, so being first in the door, before the properties reach the portals was essential.

As an Interior Architect, Mrs W knew houses, and classic proportions and authenticity were essential.  She could always see potential, but sometimes that can be overly helpful – after all, everything *can be done, but is it a wise investment at the end of the day?

What the local area offer could offer

The stretch between Bicester, Buckingham and Milton Keynes has many fabulous locations, but it was important to deeply understand the future developments in the area in order to not be bamboozled, as the naïve Londoners, into making a mistake.  A perfectly feasible commute can be done in several ways, the prep school options of Beachborough, Winchester House, Swanbourne House and Akeley Wood are big draws for those looking to move to the country for the family.

How Stacks helped

Their Regional Director for Buckinghamshire, Rachel Johnston, says “With a looming deadline of the exchange and completion of their London property, the W’s were under pressure.  I could guide them at a fast clip through their options, schools, areas they weren’t aware of and houses that they wouldn’t have seen on the portals in this fast-moving market.  Within days, they were confident they knew enough and could fall in love with ‘the’ house. Previewing it first  – and their confidence in my local knowledge  – meant we could move faster than the competition and secure it with decisive action.”

The happy outcome

Mrs W says “I actually didn’t think a search agent was something that was possible for us, I had the impression it was for people with massive budgets and bank accounts. Rachel at Stacks spent so much time with us explaining the process and, before we had even committed to working together, provided an abundance of information.

As we move in, I know I still have Rachel at the end of the phone for advice and can contact her if needed. Even once her job is technically ‘done’, Rachel continues to connect with us and offer help where and when it’s needed.

I could not recommend her more highly. She went above and beyond anything we would have expected even advising the sellers on their onward house purchase in order to support our transaction. She is simply fantastic.”
