Clifton is one of the most affluent and sought after places to live in Bristol.
After a visit to Clifton village it’s easy to see why. The atmosphere is that of an upmarket village with everything you need on your doorstep. There are smart cafes, individual shops and boutiques, numerous estate agents and everything is a short walk from the open green space known as Clifton Downs. The backdrop of the village is the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge.
After a short walk over the bridge and you are in leafy Leigh Woods which is a popular area for those looking for a slice of the country in the city. Clifton is famed for its Georgian architecture, hence many of the properties can be four to five floors tall with large sash windows and wrought iron balconies. However, if you are searching for two storey living you will also find many stylish new builds, houses and apartments, that have a more contemporary layout. Victorian houses off the Whiteladies road and towards Redland and Cotham often are popular as there is plenty of more open plan living space that suits young families. Prices here can be a little lower than in Clifton.
A recent client of mine, due to being busy at work, asked me to relocate him from Clifton to a larger house in Clifton and is now happily living in a gated contemporary property that is a Grade II conversion so he has the best of both worlds a good looking property with lot’s of space and light and a modern feel in the middle of Clifton village with parking.
