Alex and David had been looking for an equestrian property for a couple of months when they came to Stacks.
They had seen quite a few but there were always problems – not enough land, too much land, no stabling, no outriding. Finding exactly the right equestrian property is never easy.
Stacks Gloucestershire took on their search from the Cotswolds across the Severn to the Forest of Dean, with three Stacks team members on the hunt. We saw a lot of properties. Most of them were wrong. However, part of our job is to look at properties and to see how we can make them work for our clients.
The farm that Alex and David finally chose and we negotiated for them them looked all wrong on paper – so wrong, that Alex and David had to be persuaded to come and have a look at it.
There was too much ground – no problem, we spoke to a neighbouring farmer, who agreed to buy a parcel.
No outriding – we arranged a new access with Highways that allowed direct access to a small lane and a bridlepath.
House was too small – we got planning permission for an extension. No stabling – in fact a bonus, as Alex and David were able to build their own to their specifications. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover or a house by the particulars.
