Surrey is one of the most popular counties for commuters because of the proximity to London and the high standard of schools.
Obviously this is reflected in the price of houses, which can be 25% higher than neighbouring Hampshire and West Sussex. This office covers the area to the SW of London including Guildford, Godalming, Cranleigh, Elstead, Hindhead and Haslemere.
The villages to the south and east of Guildford are extremely sought-after by families moving out of London. Some villages such as Wonersh, Shalford, Shamley Green have the archetypal village greens with a pub and a shop, and others in the Surrey Hills offer much more rural living. Cranleigh, near the southern boundary with West Sussex, is a much bigger village with supermarkets and a wider range of shops.
The A3 is the main road link to London which was greatly improved by the opening of the Hindhead Tunnel in 2011. Haslemere is the furthest point in Surrey from London and apart from in rush hour, a journey to Chelsea & Fulham is usually 45-50mins by car.
