West Sussex is the most sparsely populated county that we cover from this office, this is partly due to the fact that the train links to London for commuters are not as good as Hampshire and Surrey.
The county is dominated by the South Downs and a large portion is in the National Park (SDNP). The countryside is magnificent and offers some fantastic walks. An abundance of little villages with great pubs and a fabulous choice of property, from houses in the towns to hidden rural splendour in the countryside. The seaside is never far away and West Wittering is the jewel in the crown with a 4 mile long sandy beach.
Over the past 30yrs we have helped a lot of downsizers find their new homes in West Sussex. Once our clients have sold their family home, often they look for a smaller, easy to manage house which can still accommodate their children and grandchildren when necessary. The need for a good train link to London might have diminished but a large percentage still want to be either in, or on the outskirts of, a small town so that they are within walking distance of all the amenities.
