This is the area of Gloucestershire which confuses some. Whilst the Forest of Dean is obvious, West Gloucestershire is often mistaken for Monmouthshire. Bordered by the River Wye and River Severn and stretching almost to Ross-on-Wye, this is the historic frontier between England and Wales. Woods and glades head east from Offa’s Dyke and tucked between are historic villages and hamlets. The many moving to the area make the most of the good connections to the M4 and M50 and the trainline along the banks of the Severn.
