London Market Comment Spring 2016

Sara Ransom
As Spring is around the corner, and the stamp duty addition comes into fruition, agents hold their breath to see what will emerge.
Prime central London has seen a short flurry of activity as investors whom have been delayed in making a second or third investment are now driven by the potential saving of 3%.
However, there remains some debate as to how many buyers have done this and how many have decided to hold off and see whether the market will drop 3% over the next few months post April.
Around greater London the traditional move to the country over the summer months is beginning and is bouying the market up around the so called ‘nappy valley’ areas. There is also a lot of activity from £300k upwards from first time buyers which will ripple upwards over the next few months which is currently supported by a good amount of new stock coming to the market.
