At Stacks Property Search and Acquisition, we work with clients to help them find their perfect homes in various areas of the UK. In our line of work, many of our clients have luxury house features they are looking for.
If you are looking for a luxury property with certain features, working with a property finder like Stacks is a great idea. We can help you determine which features you are more likely to be able to achieve and which might be harder to come by.
We also have inside information and can find homes that may not officially be on the market yet. If you have a specific list of features you would like your new home to have, then this access to off-market properties can be invaluable.
When you work with Stacks, we are there for you as the buyer’s agent. This means we do everything we can to fulfil your property requests at the right price for you. We do a lot of the leg work, so you don’t have to—contact us today to start your journey.
When it comes to luxury house features, everyone’s preferences and perceptions are different.
We work closely with our clients to ensure we understand what they are looking for in a property.
Here are our top luxury house features:
Large garden – The most common luxury house feature requested by our clients is a large garden. “Large” can vary depending on what you are used to and the size of the house itself. You could need a space big enough for you and your family to enjoy, play in and entertain in.
In this case, a sizeable lawn and patio/decking area could be sufficient. However, if you are looking to purchase a manor house or mansion, then you will be expecting large, well-kept grounds and several different areas to enjoy.
Whatever your perception of a large garden may be, it is one of the top luxury house features our clients are looking for.
Outdoor Living Space—Outdoor living is more popular than ever before. With the increased popularity and known benefits of fresh air, more people are investing in building outdoor living spaces as part of their homes. These could be a pool, an outdoor dining area, or even an outdoor kitchen. Because of the maintenance these spaces require, they are a real extravagance and still harder to come by within the UK, which is what makes them a luxury house feature.
Annexe—If you regularly have guests visiting you and need a place for them to stay, an annexe is a perfect feature to look for in a house. Again, these can be hard to come by. They are usually a luxury house feature in a large detached home, especially properties located in the countryside.
As well as being used for guests visiting, they are also commonly used for the older generation to reside in when their own home becomes too challenging for them to live in alone – this is where the term “granny annexe” comes from!.
An annexe is also used for teenage children to live in, giving them their own space when they are not quite ready to fly the nest. Or if your home is large enough to require staff, having onsite accommodation in an annexe will be a big draw for the top-tier staff.
Whatever your reason for requiring an annexe in your property, they are a luxury which can be hard to find.
Garage—Many of the houses we find for people have a garage; however, the luxury of having this space cannot be forgotten. Whether you use the space for your vehicle, hobbies or storage, or convert it into a room and an integral part of your home, a garage is a luxury that a lot of people look for and will not purchase a home without one.
Private Driveway—Again, this is a feature of many of the properties we find for our clients. Not only is this a luxury house feature in itself, but the size of the driveway is also important.
For real luxury, we have clients who prefer an in-out driveway with spaces for multiple cars and then some.
Off-street parking is practically non-negotiable, but, whatever the size of the driveway, it’s always a luxury to have a private space for your vehicle and can give you piece of mind that your car is safe.
Walk-in Wardrobe – A walk-in wardrobe is another luxury house feature that many of our clients look for in their new homes. In large new build homes, these are becoming more common. In older houses, there is sometimes a room that can be adapted to become a walk-in wardrobe, so don’t dismiss a home without one straight away. Think about the space and what you will use each room for. A walk-in wardrobe is probably one of the easiest features to add to a property within an existing footprint.
Wine Cellar—If you’re into wine, you may be looking for a property with a wine cellar. Whilst cellars are usually a feature only found in older buildings, there are many companies that can add underground or temperature controlled rooms to newer properties, so, again, you are looking for your options whilst househunting, rather than ruling out houses which are not currently configured in this way.
Floor-to-ceiling windows – Natural light is becoming a very desired feature in all types of properties. So, houses with large floor-to-ceiling windows are becoming more common and sought after. These are especially popular in houses in the country where privacy isn’t an issue. These types of windows are an acquired taste for many. Be aware that you will lose heat from them, and if you live in a residential area, then you may struggle with the lack of privacy.
