Last year was very much a story of buyers looking for lateral space and being able to work from home, whilst still being able to commute to the office alongside those who made the jump to the country at the beginning of the pandemic and are now missing the lights and sociability of London and therefore buying a pied a terre to come back to.
This year it is likely to remain the same, whilst the country market suffers from lack of stock those who still seek the mud and to leave London are struggling to find something and therefore creating a knock on effect in the family house market.
Prime Central London is certainly busier as overseas buyers tentatively start coming back and there are certainly still some good investment purchases to be made before we (hopefully) see the back to the pandemic. London process have not risen in the same way those in the country has and therefore it’s a good time to make a purchase in prime central London at this moment although you will need a good buying agent to ensure that you aren’t paying too much and are buying in an area which will bring you good capital growth.
