South West London Property Finders

Are you thinking of buying a family home, rental investment or your first property in South West London?

Often the first port of call for recent graduates, because of its proximity to the country and access to the A3 and M4, South West London is very much a residential family area, filled with parks and facilities for every aspect of family life (giving it the nickname ‘nappy valley’) alongside excellent schools and shopping centres.

Covering a large area, from the leafy suburbs of Esher, Sheen and Teddington to the more central areas of Richmond, Putney and Wimbledon, and over to Balham, Fulham, Clapham and Wandsworth, Stacks Property Search have extensive knowledge of South West London, having lived and worked in the area for over 20 years.

You may be looking to buy your next family home as you move out of central London for some more space and a garden, or this could be your first step on the property ladder. Equally you may be looking to buy a rental investment to appeal to the vast number of recent graduates and young families living in the area.

If so, there are many factors to think about when choosing ‘where’ and ‘what’ to buy. Each of the areas in South West London offers different options in terms of schooling, transport and lifestyle, and having an expert such as Stacks London Property Search on your side will save you time and offer you the inside knowledge you need to make the choice.

Serviced by the District and Northern Lines, your commute could be a large factor as to whether you choose Fulham or Balham, for example, or you may wish to purchase your property with potential capital growth in mind and look at areas such as Tooting which is pinpointed to be the selected location for Crossrail 2.

Either way, there are a great many estate agents to talk to, and in a busy market this can be hugely time-consuming. We can take this job off your hands, and use our network and previous purchase experience to manoeuvre our clients in to the best possible position to make their purchase.

With the M4 to its north, and bordered by the Thames to the west and Chelsea to the east, Fulham is enduringly popular for young couples making their first move to London.

Lured by the excellent shops and restaurants, and access to the City, residents can still ‘escape’ to the country easily. Families tend to stay in the area, traditionally moving from a two-bedroom flat to a Victorian terraced house and then onto a larger version, or to the country.

Parsons Green and Hurlingham Park are the most well-known areas, the latter offering immense houses some with a view over the exclusive club itself.

Fulham has recently undergone a huge redevelopment project to its south, on the banks of the river, and as a result now has an extra underground station (Imperial Wharf) and offers luxurious apartments on the Thames.

Famous for its annual University Boat Race, Putney, with its vibrant High Street and Heath, is popular with young couples and families alike.

Putney offers transport to the City via the District line and overground, and is adjacent to the A3, giving easy access to Surrey and the A3 corridor.

Property here mainly comprises Victorian terraced houses interspersed with some large 60’s and 70’s blocks offering far reaching views across South London, as well as some vast detached houses around the Heath and Roehampton. There are also some fantastic modern developments located along the riverside.

Comprising mainly Victorian houses – both large detached and terraced – Balham is popular with young families.

It offers great access to the A3, some excellent schools, and is dominated by green spaces, the charming shops and cafes of Northcote Road and Bellevue Road, and good transport links – namely the overground into Victoria and London Bridge, and the Northern Line.

Clapham is a large area, served by three tube stations with its main hub being Clapham South and the pavement.

The area is attractive to young couples as it offers a proliferation of excellent bars and restaurants, along with the Common. Property here is mainly Victorian, with some popular new developments now appearing.

Renowned for its beautiful park and large Georgian houses and Cottages, as well as classic Victorian houses, Richmond offers country living whilst still being an easy commute to the City.

The area is serviced by Richmond train station and also the district line into central London.

Richmond offers a wealth of boutiques, restaurants and cafes some of which are placed along the river bank.
