Buying a new home from abroad via the internet is almost impossible without frequent visits including flights, hotels and car hire. Then, by the time you’re arrived at the estate agent to view the house you liked, it’s already sold. Or, if it’s still available, it’s maybe not really what you wanted. A waste of time, effort and money. To organise viewings of multiple houses with multiple estate agents for one trip is a huge task in itself.
This is where Gillie and Anthony come into their own. They are efficient, friendly, knowledgeable and have a lot of contacts. They viewed, on our behalf, a large selection of houses that fit the criteria we gave them, and sent photos and videos for us to look at.
We arranged a week’s visit and they organised viewings of several houses each day during the visit. Once we found our new home, they helped us with surveys, searches and put us in touch with a solicitor to complete the purchase. After our offer was accepted and we had returned abroad, they continued to help us with all the bureaucracy via phone and e-mail with the occasional FaceTime.
Even now that the purchase is complete and we’ve moved in, they’re still at the end of the phone with answers and help with any questions we still have.
They are, importantly, nice people too.

JANUARY 2023
In spring 2022 we were living in London and had been looking for months for a house in Suffolk and had even made an offer on a house that turned out to be completely unsuitable, when we decided to contact Anthony and Gillie. We gave them a list of what we wanted and had a preliminary discussion.
However, before we signed up, we found what we thought was our dream house and had only one day to make an offer, which was accepted. We then spent months trying to close on the house and finally had to walk away. In early 2023, after these two failures, we went back to Gillie and Anthony, and by mid-April we had closed on a great house in the village where we really wanted to live, and are in the process of moving in.
We are incredibly grateful to have had them alongside us to review the survey report, contract, and all the other important but long and confusing documents involved, and to be able to trust their judgment and advice as we worked our way through the buying process. They are very patient and supportive, and also great company, along with their lovely dog Monty. If and when we decide to move in the future, they will be the first people we call—and next time we will leave everything in their hands from the start! We could not recommend them more highly.

Recently, I looked back at the wish list I put together before I first contacted you. Back then, I remember feeling doubtful about how much of what I wanted was realistic or achievable, and steeling myself to be ready to make lots of compromises.
I didn’t include ‘a view’, for example, having decided that this was probably a self-indulgent ‘ask too far’. There were lots of other items though, and it makes me smile to see that I had listed ‘potting shed’ twice – clearly something of great importance. The two of you achieved every single item on the list and secured for me a lovely period house in an outstanding location, which I must admit I would not actually have bothered to view without your encouragement. Beyond this, there are sublime and far reaching views from almost every window… and several potting sheds.

As other testimonials have said, Gillie is intuitive and pretty much insisted (in a nice way) we see a house that on paper, we’d rejected. We now own it, so good for her! Anthony is excellent at sorting out the niggly bits that inevitably occur once the process of purchase is underway. Communication is very good via emails, texts, and phone calls. We never had to wait more than a day to hear news, or for a response to one of our enquiries. (Could you possibly check mobile phone signal? Could you possibly read the electricity meter?
